Designed IRs

Collections of acoustic impulse responses that perfectly mimic the behavior of acoustic spaces, physics phenomena, or psychoacoustic illusions of hearing and perception.

What are Designed IRs?

Designed IRs are impulse responses that was produced using a hybrid of classic IR recording techniques and modelling fused with cutting-edge audio engineering technologies.

Impulse responses are used with convolution algorithms to simulate the acoustics that was captured during the recording of an impulse signal, but our Designed IRs take this a step further with the simulation of various physics phenomena, or psychoacoustic illusions of hearing and perception.

Furthermore, our production process uses the acoustic captures together with modelling and simulation to produce acoustic spaces that are not possible to capture with classic IR production workflows, due to the size of those acoustic spaces and the complexity of their shape.

In fact, we are able to produce the acoustic response of fictional and surreal environments not possible to find anywhere, perfect for use in fantasy and sci-fi genres.

The SoundFellas Difference

What makes our sound libraries so unique? We created “SFv4” an innovative production process that offers to audio the same features that cutting-edge computer graphics production offers to visuals. Below you can see the advanced processes that are used to create our Designed IR libraries.

True3D Audio™

An audio production pipeline that allows us to mix anechoic sound elements into a virtual 3D scene with accurate acoustics simulation. Immersive realism for soundscapes, music, and any other material, compatible with any channel format. Learn More >>

Scene Analysis

A protocol for capturing, and documenting a location, to extract elements, model scenes, analyze sound behavior and synthesize new elements. All creative information and extra elements to achieve consistent aesthetics. Learn More >>

FocusBlur™

FocusBlur™ is a delicate psychoacoustic process that defocuses the signal of directional sources in soundscape or music material, producing a difficult to localize result with a subtle in-front focus, perfect for scene ambience, music, and non-diegetic material. Learn More >>

Refined Content

Optimized trimming, seamless looping, and detailed fading. All those results in oneshots that perfectly sync with visuals, and loops that cycle seamlessly in any playback scenario. What you get is content that just sounds great and cuts through the mix. Learn More >>

AuthorNorm™

AuthorNorm™ is a perceived loudness normalization protocol that fuses the natural behavior of sound in nature and how we use sound in digital media authoring. Designed to normalize audio assets used in the production and post-production stages, it’s perfect for any media authoring work. Learn More >>

HDR Audio

Our end-to-end high dynamic range pipeline yields crystal clear sound with more detail, punchier attacks, and smoother fades, that sound great across any playback scenario. Learn More >>

Coming Soon

We are currently working on the finalization of our first Particle Sounds collections and it’s going very well. We are expecting to release them in public soon.

If you want to be the first to get this exciting new type of sounds, use the subscription form at the footer (bottom of the website). We will let you know when they’re ready.

If you are doing cutting-edge work and you would like to be one of the first to test our Particle Sounds in your projects, you can join our street team of beta testers. This is a small group of people that like to put detail and passion into their work, and we connect with them and let them try our products before they go out to the public. If you like to be one of them, send us a mail using the contact link at the footer.

You can also ask us any questions if you join our official Discord server.
