Announcement

This is an official open call to all science researchers specialized in life sciences who need audio content.

This initiative is a way for us to help science and by extension create a better future for our earth and all living things.

If you are a researcher and you could use audio content in your experiments, this open call is for you, keep on reading. If you know a science researcher from the sector of life sciences (like biology) or you can circulate this open call in your research institute or academia then please share this article with anybody you think could benefit from our offering.

Here at the SoundFellas Immersive Audio Labs we have a vast library of audio content both recorded from nature and synthesized using machines. At the same time, we specialize in extracting sounds from more complex material and also create hybrid sound results that cannot be found in nature by combining synthetic and natural signals together using modelling and compositing techniques. Using the arsenal of innovative audio technologies we use in our production we can create various audio signals for use in scientific research.

Our audio content could be useful for research in the life sciences, to use in experiments with live organisms such as guinea pigs, rabbits, hamsters, non-human primates, C. elegans, zebrafish, etc.

If you want to simulate specific habitat conditions that include sounds or vibrations transferred through materials and use those sounds to drive vibrating surfaces, speakers submerged into liquid, or any other actuators, we could provide you with custom audio content to help you with your research.

Other cases could be the creation of long-form material like days or weeks of changing environmental sound that alternates to simulate specific settings. For example a complete day in the city with noisy traffic on the day and quiet nights, or changing of location during transportation, or even slowly transforming acoustic environments that morph slowly from one state to another.

Of course, all the ideas above are just examples, and we are open to collaborating with any research team interested to create the perfect signal that will fit the experiment's specifications and follow the scientific method.

Some of the benefits of working with SoundFellas for your experimental audio needs are:

  • Collaborate with a team of audio experts that believe in the scientific method.
  • We have a solid understanding of psychophysics, psychoacoustics, sensory mechanisms, and aesthetics.
  • We have a good network of scientific advisors from the sector of life sciences to expand our knowledge.
  • We believe in ethical progress and openness for the good of all.
  • Our expertise in audio content production and related technology comes from our long experience of more than 25 years.
  • We also work using the scientific method, specific protocols, and attention to precision in every step of our production.

If you think that using specialized audio signals and vibrations with high fidelity could help your research, feel free to contact us at contact@sounfellas.com so we can initiate a discussion.
